Unfortunately, the right way to do short sales is not.
Just to be clear: I am not saying that short sales can’t take a long time. They definitely can–if you aren’t trained.
That’s the key. If you waste time talking to the wrong people, if you waste time submitting an offer that’s inappropriate, if you waste time on ineffective or inappropriate bank communications, your deal is going sit and sit and sit.
Why? Because the bank doesn’t want to kill the deal, but they don’t want to take it either. You’ve got to give the lender a reason to move–now. Make them an offer they can’t refuse. My students know how to do this.
